Liberalism = Fascism

One of the liberal establishment’s favorite names to call the President or Republicans in general is “fascist.” They hold their idiotic signs with a picture of Bush and a swastika, or a phrase like “Neocon = Fascist.” It’s fairly transparent and overly simplistic, but no one really expects anything less from left-wingers. The question, however, becomes: If Bush is so fascist, why aren’t liberals voting for him and his policies?

Fascism is the ultimate form of statism. Simply put, fascism occurs when a dictator uses some means to control the public and do things “for the good of the state.” A simple-minded left-winger will find that some fascist dictators will use “nationalism” or “national pride” as a call to arms for his purposes, and immediately they associate that with a Conservative agenda. Not so. America has a long history of anti-statist behavior, going back to the founding fathers. Our nation rejects the idea of the supremacy of the state over the individual. We developed a Republican form of government (yes, we’re a Republic, not a Democracy, get it right libs) to protect all of us from a mob-rule mentality, fueled by the latest news blurbs or graphic images of the day. We also founded our Constitution on the simple fact that we’re divine creatures with rights that cannot be taken away. Rights are not “granted” to us BY the government in the Constitution, but rather the Constitution declares that government shall not take away rights we are born with because we are made by God. (Check it out). Simply put, anti-statism is not a radical or liberal idea. It’s an age-old Conservative one.

Don’t just take my word for it. Fascist dictators from days long gone would garner a fairly decent portion of liberal support in the 2008 Democratic Primaries if they could run today!

“Comrades! We must abolish the cult of the individual decisively, once and for all.” – Nikita Khrushchev

“We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.” – Hillary Clinton

“It is thus necessary that the individual should come to realize that his own ego is of no importance in comparison with the existence of his nation…” – Adolph Hitler

“Cause the registration of all firearms on some pretext, with the view of confiscating them and leaving the population defenseless.” –Vladimir Ilich Lenin

“I believe in keeping guns out of our inner cities, and that our leaders must say so in the face of the gun manfuacturer’s lobby.” — Barack Obama

Thought crimes are real and present in our everyday society. “Hate” crimes legislation seeks to punish the thoughts behind crimes that are committed rather than simply to enforce current criminal laws. Murdering someone is cause for the death penalty in most states. Calling it a hate crime to pander to political groups is disingenuous at best, and criminal at worst.

Elected officials need to understand that they have more power than simply passing a law or bill to get things done. True leadership is also about persuading people through your better arguments that you are right. Any law that is passed has the ultimate penalty of death for non-compliance, and that’s something any lawmaker should take very seriously. The Republican party has failed to really appreciate that for the past decade, and we paid the price in 2006. This is more than a petty political argument between parties, because the very anti-statist nature of our country is at steak now.
